Community Engagement Coordinator - Energy Infrastructure Reinvestment Program
Position: Part-Time Community Engagement Coordinator
Location: Consumers Council of MO, Inc., Cortex District
Salary: 20 hours per week/$24.00 per hour

About Us: Focusing on utility rates, personal finance, and healthcare, Consumers Council of MO works collaboratively to build a more inclusive and equitable community for Missouri consumers who are low and moderate income. We are seeking a passionate and motivated individual to join our team as a Part-Time Community Engagement Coordinator on issues related to the Energy Infrastructure Reinvestment Program (EIR).
Position Overview:
Energy Infrastructure Reinvestment (EIR) loans are for utility projects that “retool, re-power, repurpose, or replace energy infrastructure that has ceased operations,” including projects that “include the remediation of environmental damage associated with energy infrastructure.”
The Community Engagement Coordinator will play a vital role in connecting with existing community advisory groups and other community organizations regarding EIR funding. This position involves:
- Organizing meetings and educating the community about the EIR process;
- Gathering valuable input on EIR opportunities, and engaging the community regarding the availability of EIR loans for area utilities.
- Engaging the community in advocacy regarding possibilities related to a utility's eligibility for EIR loans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organize and facilitate community advisory committee meetings.
- Develop and deliver educational materials and presentations about the EIR to diverse community groups.
- Actively engage with community members to gather feedback on EIR proposals.
- Build and maintain relationships with community advisory groups and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure community input is effectively integrated into EIR processes.
- Assist community groups in advocacy work related to the EIR.
- Assist in documenting meeting outcomes and community feedback.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in community engagement, outreach, policy, environmental issues, or related field.
- Familiarity with and interest in environmental issues and EIR processes is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Flexibility to attend evening and weekend meetings as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in public policy, environmental studies, communications, or a related field.
